Aviterra, a company headquartered in Dubai, has placed an order exceeding 100 flying cars set to revolutionize urban transportation when they debut between 2025 and 2026. These innovative vehicles, procured by Aviterra, a subsidiary of private jet charter Jetex, are PAL-V’s Liberty models, designed to provide last-mile solutions for residents.
Mouhanad Wadaa, the managing director of Aviterra, emphasized that the PAL-V Liberty is a fully functional car that individuals can park conveniently in parking lots or their villas. Combining the features of a gyroplane and a car, the PAL-V Liberty is hailed as the world’s first genuine flying car, offering independence from congested roads and increasing travel flexibility. With an impressive flight range of 500 km and a maximum airspeed of 180 km/h, the Liberty significantly reduces commute and travel durations.
Aviterra’s investment arm, Loggia Investment, has strategically invested in PAL-V and fostered partnerships across the Middle East and Africa. This move aligns with the region’s progressive stance on embracing last-mile mobility solutions. Notably, Dubai recently inked a deal with US-based Joby Aviation to introduce air taxis for a six-year period. Additionally, Archer and Falcon Aviation, in collaboration with UAE’s Falcon Aviation, are set to establish vertiports in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to facilitate the operation of flying vehicles.
Addressing concerns about affordability, Wadaa explained that the PAL-V Liberty will cost approximately 10% of a helicopter ride, with operational expenses similarly reduced to 10% of those associated with helicopters.
