As the UAE braces for a bout of severe weather, air travel in and out of Dubai is set to face disruptions this week. Meteorologists have issued warnings for thunderstorms, lightning, and hail expected to hit the region on Tuesday, April 16, and Wednesday, April 17.

Dubai International Airport has advised travelers to stay updated on their flight schedules, allowing for extra travel time if necessary. Additionally, passengers are encouraged to utilize the Dubai Metro as an alternative mode of transportation during the turbulent weather conditions.

To ensure the safety of passengers, local carrier flydubai has released a series of safety guidelines for those traveling through Dubai. The airline recommends passengers to allocate additional time for their journey to the airport and to aim for arrival at least four hours prior to their scheduled departure time.

Flydubai also advises passengers to streamline their check-in process by utilizing online check-in facilities and staying informed about flight statuses via the airline’s official website. Passengers are urged to ensure their personal contact information is updated in their booking records to receive timely notifications about any changes to their flights.

Despite the impending weather, Emirates Airlines has announced that all flights are expected to operate on schedule. However, it’s essential for passengers to stay vigilant and monitor updates from airlines and airport authorities closely.

In recent days, adverse weather conditions have affected various parts of the UAE, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah. Travelers are advised to stay informed about weather updates and exercise caution while commuting during this period of inclement weather.
